OUR HISTORY

A Legacy Rooted in North Carolina Since 1939

KMW Builders was founded in 2009, but our story begins long before that. We are a subsidiary of Weaver Investment Company, a Greensboro-based family enterprise with a rich history in construction, real estate, and community development.

In 1939, Herman Weaver co-founded H.H. McNeill Weaver, formerly known as McNeill Construction Company. Over the decades, the company grew from one of the most respected local organizations in the Southeast—eventually becoming one of the largest owners of affordable housing on the East Coast.

This heritage gives KMW Builders something rare in the construction world: deep roots, strong financial backing, and a long-term commitment to the communities we build.
