Church Street Lofts is a 50-unit adaptive reuse affordable senior housing project completed in May 2023. The project involved the conversion of the former Acme-McCrary Hosiery Mill (originally constructed in 1909) into an interior-corridor multifamily building—an uncommon layout for a historic mill renovation. Scope included selective demolition, structural modifications, full interior build-out, and energy-efficient upgrades, along with a pedestrian bridge connection to the adjacent Randolph County Senior Center, delivering a highly specialized housing solution tailored to senior residents.
